Responsibilities:
- Market Research: Conducting market research and analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive landscapes within the industry/category. Curate and manage a compelling product assortment that meets market trends and customer needs.
- Sales Analysis: Analyze sales data and market trends to inform product selection, pricing strategies, and promotional tactics.
- Strategy: Assisting in developing and implementing category strategies to optimise product assortment, pricing, and promotions.
- Collaboration: Collaborating with cross-functional teams such as marketing, sales, and operations to execute category initiatives and campaigns.
- Monitoring: Monitoring and evaluating category performance metrics, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Growth: Thinking and implementing growth strategies.
- Vendor Management: Assisting in supplier/vendor relationship management, including negotiations, and performance evaluations.
- Reporting & Documentation: Supporting the creation of presentations, reports, and documentation related to category management activities.
Requirements:
- 3 plus years of relevant experience in category management and Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, or experience in a related field.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and draw actionable insights.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and data analysis tools is preferred.
- Prior internship or coursework related to category management, retail, or consumer goods is a plus.
- Detail-oriented, organised, and capable of managing multiple tasks/projects simultaneously.
